Throughout the course, the material cultural assets produced that the Turkish and Islamic cultural geography are studied and taught in a chronological order. Education curriculum is based on Turkish-Islamic Art and Archeology. In line with the education-training program consist of Pre-Anatolian of Turkish Art (Hun, Gokturk, Uyghur, Avar, Karahanli, Gazneli, Great Seljuks, etc.) ; Seljuks, periods of Beyliks, and byzantine art in the Medieval Art and Archeology; Ottoman Art and Archeology. In the lessons, architectural works and architectural ornamentation, handicrafts, miniatures, painting and sculpture art are introduced in a systematic manner.  The main vocational information such as theories of art, terminology, technical drawing-survey, research methods, archaeological excavation techniques in art history and restoration-conservation are explained. In addition, it is aimed to gain practical experience of the students by participating in archeological excavation, conservation and restoration work related to the area.

Students who successfully complete the Department of Art History are entitled to receive the title "Art Historian". With this title they can work in the museums, art galleries, researchers and experts in archaeological excavations and surface surveys, specialists in the restoration works and work as academicians in the universities.
